The same trends and discussion are happening in the UK. I have written about it on The Autism Tribune - many times. The numbers go up and there is always an excuse. Greater recognition, overdiagnosis, wider diagnostic categorisation, benefit fraud ... never a real growth. Nor is there any discussion of the pain and despair of seeing children regress into lifelong disability. Nor of the potential biological causes which should be the focus of intensive research.

It is truly shocking. The expert class are failing us all. It is a massive dereliction of duty. Please keep speaking up. Eventually something will have to change.
